What have you been up to?

I know I know...I was so busy mengalahkan President Amerika!

I read the articles this morning regarding how the hooligans bullied the Vietnamese Football fan at Stadium Shah Alam, and how the Vietnamese football fan have treated the Ultras with kindness after that.
I almost cried. It always touches my heart when the topic of 'humanity' arise.

We are human, sharing the same world, the same region.
No fight please. I know not all Football supporters are like that. These are just some nut case in the bowl. So yes....

We Are Truly Sorry, Vietnam. And We Thank You For Your Kindness. You Have Win After All. You Win For Being Kind.

it's like navigating a drive through hard, bumpy road.
it's either one step to the right side, or one step up.
you will loose the grip once in a while but stay focus. your destination is up above there.
so even if you fail the first time, try again.

stay focus.
in the end, you will be satisfied when you here a voice in your head says.....(scroll down) have finally reached your destination :D

I climbed the Mount Kinabalu

This plan was initiate by yours truly last year, after I got a boost of influence and motivation from a dear friend whom had climbed that year and after I have lay my eyes on the beautiful mountain during my holiday in the Borneo Island.

Without wasting anymore time, my friends and I started to gather friends of friends whom have at least little dream of climbing Mt Kinabalu.

There were 12 of us.

But as time passed by, one by one drew off from the team due to personal and work commitment. And until there were 7 of us, we started to get the dates confirm by paying the deposit to SSL (Sutera Sanctuary Lodges) and until only 6 of us left. Not long 2 of us drew off from the team and the last 4 were standing, trying to make this dream a reality.

Alhamdulillah, we managed to climb till the summit.
I couldn't believe myself. Initially I plan to climb up until where I could, at least the lower ground of summit. But God has given me strength and determination. My fellow friends also giving me moral support. We took the summit at 8am, the last 3 three standing for the Laban Rata batch that morning.

SubhanAllah, MasyaAllah, that were the only words I could utter when I stood up there, next to the signage. The view was magnificent. Couldn't believe I stood above the clouds, at 4095.2 meters above sea level. It was beautiful. Beautiful.

For me, getting there to the summit was an achievement I thought I would not achieve. Never underestimate your capability guys. But of course, I walked one step a time. My dear pal Aten even got the hardest time when we started the summit climb. My hardest time was from Timpohon gate to Laban Rata. Everyone were trying to cope with the weather and situation I guess.

Along the way from Timpohon gate to the summit, you can see the trees are all different compare to what we usually see here around us.

Just a few tips if you are planning to climb up Mount Kinabalu:
1. Make early reservation / plan with SSL (confirm reliable) at least 1 year early

2. Buy all your winter clothing after Christmas which is around January-March because most winter outlets throw sales during that time. Check out Uniqlo Winter inner clothing too. They have the heat tech collection which really really work. I bought one fleece hect tech top and wore it to the summit. It keeps me warm all the time. The heat tech socks, pants, top, etc really works. Trust me.

3. Please buy very good shoe for the climb. Shoe that really grip. There was this Chinese girl who had to turn back to Laban Rata when she couldn't climb the 90degree rock. So, if you have extra money, you can invest in a nice branded shoe. But if you're not, do like me, wait till it's sale time and buy the shoe. I bought my Columbia Hiking show at RM110 only. It was on 70% sale. MAGNIFICANTO!  (if you planned this early, you will have enough time to wait for sale. seriously.)

4. If not you can always borrow the stuff from your hiker friends. I'm sure you have at least one hiker friends. I borrowed parka, bagpack, gloves, extra climbing shoe from my friend. I would have just worn her shoe thought, but because the shoe was worn, I didn't want to risk my climb. So I bought the Columbia hiking shoe.

5. When you have started your summit climb from Laban Rata (about 2/3am), make sure you pass through the Sayap Sayap Checkpoint before 5am. They will not allow you to continue the climb if you reach the gate after 5/5:30am. The Sayap Sayap Checkpoint is about 1km from Laban Rata. After you have reached the checkpoint, then you can take as much time as you want to climb till the summit.
-seriously, my team was the last team to arrive at the summit...and don''t worry if it happen...because....

6. It's better if you arrive late at the summit as you have PLENTY of time for pictures/selfies/videos and you can enjoy the view up there right beside the signage. You can eat/ rest/ etc there without having to worry about other people whom want to take photographs there. hahaa....that's the best thing of all. You are not competing with anyone, it's all about you. How far you want to go, how fast you want to go, how do you want to do it. Don't compete, it's not a race, it's about reaching up to the summit, if your conditions allow you. It's about your own goal.

So, enjoy the photos here. (I'll upload once I transfer the photos inside my new external harddish hehe )
I still couldn't believe I got up there. The summit of Mount Kinabalu. Low's Peak.

Swap BODY SHOP Bottles

From now until May, swap all your empty Body Shop bottles with travel size lotion. Some place even take empty cosmetic casing like lipstick, blusher, concealer etc. Just bring your empty bottles to any Body Shop outlet and you have to be TBS member ya.

I got mine a few days ago and I'm a happy little girl! ;))

Jogjakarta #3

So the Jogja trip...

I managed to visit not only Solo, but also Demak and Semarang. I have decided to visit the Wali Songo Mosque (Masjid Agung Demak). It was build by the 9 wali. You may google more about it.

I'm impressed by the history.

As early as 7.30am, we were drove by Pak Supir to Semarang. It was a 2 hours journey to Semarang from Jogja. Along the journey we could see volcano, green, Indonesian lifestyle and many more. Semarang was quite a busy city. But our pit stop would be at LawangSewu and Masjid Agung Semarang. LawangSewu is a colonial building which was used as the HQ for the tram at Semarang back in those years. The building had smart architecture with better air system. However after a few years, the Japanese took over the place and they used the building as a prison. You won't believe what they did to the prisoners. I felt puke and sick when the guide told us the story.
And a few years back, that building was used to film a well known Indonesian movie called Ayat-Ayat Cinta. We got the privilege to be at the building for all the historical things it has witnessed.

Masjid Agung Semarang on the other hand is the state mosque. It should be new like 3 years of building but the condition of the exterior was far than new. Rubbish everywhere and I wish there would be some organisation take charge of it.

Dosa demi dosa aku kumpulkan,

Tentang masa depanku, jodohku, sesungguhnya Kau Maha Mengetahui,

At the moment of being told the truth, lies were unfold, she couldn't believe of everything she heard. Her heart shattered in the that split second, emotion like a roller coaster. Everything she hoped for tumbling down, she held on to her breath, looking deep inside his guilty eyes.

She suddenly laughed of the fact, being cheated again, but with more than one woman and this lie, that lie, another lie! wow!
He held her hand, tight...she cried.

Questions racing in her mind.
If you can't commit to this relationship of almost a year, then why did you start it?
If you really love me, then why did you even think of doing all those things?
Where was I when you lied to me?
What did I do to you to deserve these?
If you just not ready for me....then don't ever touched my heart!

And yet again, it's just the nature of falling in love.
It's either you make it or you're not.

Jangan Bersedih

Jangan bersedih,
Bila Dia menguji,
Nikmatnya besar, hikmahnya pasti ada,
Percayakan Dia.

Jika didepan itu bukan jalannya,
Percayalah, ada yang lebih baik dari itu.

Trust being destroyed,
Lies by lies being unfold,
Innocent heart was ripped into pieces,
Tears fallen insanely,

Jangan bersedih lagi duhai hati,
Kerana Allah lebih menyayangi lalu diuji berkali-kali

Wedding + Mana Nak Cari scarf???

I have always looking forward for any wedding invitation ever since I've turned into the 3 series number. Most of my friends dah pun kahwin in either their early 20's or  late 20's, so to get a wedding invitation nowadays is sooooo hard! kesian kan I!

So, last weekend, I got the opportunity to attend a wedding of my man's 'good friend'. Ring the wedding bells! wuhuu! I had to search in my wardrobe for any baju kurung that can match his maroon baju melayu. I settled down with this black Thai Silk kurung. It was my sister's actually, she's no longer a size M (yeah, I think by now she's already an S? or was it SS??). And yours truly has been fitted into M since last year! wuhuu!

I just had to get it complete with a new scarf, and RED was my choice.  I was torn in between these two scarfs

RM59 - from a scarf boutique at Busana Mall

RM100 from Asha Karim

And of course, the latter scarf won my heart :D ngeeee
The scarf was from Asha Karim. Even though it was seriously over my budget, I had to say that it went beautifully well with my attire. This is called Arissa. And it was RM120 at the boutique, but it was on sale and I managed to get it for RM100. Well, boleh simpan for Hari Raya kan...(bak kata kawan I!)
The last piece at the boutique belongs to me!

And this is me with Arissa by Asha Karim! Okay ignore je cahaya from background tu ye. So, okay kan okay kan?? :D And I just got to know that this one is from the Premium Collection. Wow!

Getting Fit, Slim and Trim

I first started to get thinner than my old size (65kg!!!) when I had this major broken heart...anyone who have experienced broken heart know what I'm saying ;)

Kurang makan + kurang tidur + kurang happy = Thin

But it's not something that you can continue for the rest of your life. You might fall sick. During that period, I was quickly realized that I need to change something about myself and my life. So I decided to change my weight.

My ultimate weight was at 65kg during Master Degree years. You can see the pipi, waist and thigh! Memang time tu, we ate a lot. We always eat as far as I remember.
while presenting thesis proposal

During convocation

Lucky for me, my sister was also doing her fitness thing and I just joined her. She help me a lot with losing my weight. We started to run at the park and doing like 1-3km per session. We eat clean while avoiding and also banned a few thing:
1. Fastfood is banned! (McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, etc for one year)
2. Junk Food is banned!
3. Oily food reduce
4. Sugar intake reduce to the minimum
5. Lots of veggies and fruits
6. Ice blended with no whip cream, soy/low fat milk only
7. Water
8. Cook our own meal instead of eating out
9. Intensive workout to create high metabolism

For fastfood, I only had one time of KFC during breaking fast, itupun sebab I couldn't resist the planned made by my friends. Seriously, 1 time for that 1 year of intensive diet. As for junkfood, well I'm not a junk food person but biskut berkrim cokelat pon I stopped time tu.

I started to lose weight gradually starting the first 2 months I went for run. After 1 year, I lost 8kg!! Maybe you might say eleh, sikit jee but its better to loose 8kg gradually in 1 year and maintain it rather than 10kg in 2 months and gain it back in 5-10 months later. Losing weight is also about exercising. It's not about the product you consume that promise you to loose weight in shorter period. You will gain it back if you trust only the product without eating healthy and exercise.

YES, forget about all the products that give you fake promise.
You just need to WORK OUT and EAT HEALTHY.

I am now gain a couple kg from my amazing weight break through 57kg. It's okay that way because I am still eating healthy and do my regular exercise. I hope that you can do the same if you wish to loose weight. ANYONE CAN DO IT IF THEY WANT TO! :D

My goal for this year is to weight at 55kg. My waist right now is 29cm compare to I used to be at 32cm/33cm. Can I achieve my goal? YES! IF I WANT TOO!! :D

during the breakfasting gathering at KFC. I was at 57kg / 56kg this time

during flashmob training at 57kg

during makan makan hari raya 2013 at the office, i weight at 58kg /59kg

breakfasting klmuc at Seri Pacific Hotel last year, weight at 58kg / 59kg

at kraton jogjakarta, weight at 59kg / 60kg

Recently I've been actively involve in hiking. I first hiked the Broga Hill April last year. Since then I've been hiking few hills and mountain but not too many like the pros. Well, I'm just a newbie. hehe..

When I went to the Borneo Island, Kota Kinabalu in May last year, I have fallen in love with the Mount Kinabalu. My friend Vee, who is a Sabahan played as a host during my visit. Her husband and her brought Ida and I to all the attractions in Sabah, including Kundasang (where there lays Mount Kinabalu) and the islands, Manukan & Mamutik.

Too bad I didn't snorkel during the visits to the island. I am very much regret about it...pfftt!

But when I went to Kundasang and my eyes met the beautiful and magnificent Mount Kinabalu, I have made some sort of a promise to myself, that one day I will hike the mount. I thought it will be just like janji tinggal janji? But somehow, everything has been arranged now and I'm going to climb the mountain in May 2014, InsyaAllah.

I'm so excited. I'm going there with 3 more friends. All preparation is being made, we are intensively train for Kinabalu and prepare all the stuff to be worn there.

A few weeks ago, we went to Gunung Nuang, but because we have no experience to go further, we have decided to hike until Camp Lolo. A week after that, I went to Bukit Saga. Most probably this week will be climbing the Batu Caves stairs. It's all about body and mental fitness when it comes to hike. Mental the most important. Well, if you think you can, YOU CAN! :D

Will update more about our training soon. Below is some pictures from Gunung Nuang.
